Why We Exist
DCP is a nonprofit organization expanding access to the film industry through a community-powered, onchain platform. Our model is built on a circular creative economy: the more people participate by reviewing and supporting new work, the more resources flow back into funding emerging filmmakers.
By bringing creators and audiences into the same creative ecosystem, DCP enables a transparent, collaborative process where great stories rise through collective insight rather than traditional gatekeeping. We’re building a new framework for independent cinema meant to put creative agency back in the hands of creators, and to give audiences a real say in what gets funded.

Our Story
DCP was founded by Roman Coppola, Leo Matchett, and Michael Musante to address a long-standing issue in independent cinema: great stories were emerging everywhere, but access to funding, distribution, and industry pathways remained limited to a select few.
Drawing from their collective experience in filmmaking, technology, and nonprofit work, the founders envisioned a new model: where rising artists could be discovered through community participation rather than traditional gatekeeping.
With this vision, DCP introduced an onchain, community-powered platform that turns discovery into a collaborative process. Reviewers earn rewards for thoughtful evaluations, strong projects rise through transparent scoring, and resources cycle back into new awards, forming a circular creative economy that grows with every contribution.
What began as an experiment in decentralized decision-making has evolved into a global ecosystem supporting filmmakers from all backgrounds. Today, DCP partners with acclaimed creators, foundations, and cultural institutions to champion bold, original storytelling and expand opportunities for the next generation of filmmakers.
